About Us

The Company

Midwestern Bio-Ag is a biologically-based agricultural consulting company, founded in 1984.

We bring our services to more than 3,500 farms, mostly in the Midwest but ranging from as far east as Pennsylvania and as far west as Idaho and Nevada, through a network of more than 75 skilled, knowledgeable, in-the-field, hands-on consultants in a dozen states. Our consultants are supported by our staff, experienced and educated in soil management, cropping systems, soil organisms, animal nutrition, veterinary medicine, and biological farming systems.

We supply and deliver biologically-based products to our clients through the same consultant network. Many of these products are difficult for biologically-oriented farmers to find elsewhere.

Our company headquarters is located in Blue Mounds, Wisconsin, with satellite facilities in Iowa, Minnesota, Michigan, and Wisconsin, plus consultants in additional states in the East, West, and Midwest. We also operate a research farm and learning center south of Lone Rock, Wisconsin.

Our Philosophy & Values

Midwestern Bio-Ag is an ethical company that's about more than just money. While we are dedicated to helping farmers and ranchers become more productive and profitable, we are equally dedicated to an agriculture that is safer, healthier, and more sustainable for future generations.

We firmly believe that the principles of biological farming provide the basis for a revitalization of agriculture and rural communities. Working with natural laws gives abundant yields, superior quality crops and livestock, and, equally important, an abundant quality of life. We see it happening every day on our clients' farms and ranches.

We chose the name Bio-Ag to stand for Biological Agriculture, as contrasted to 'conventional' or 'assembly line' agriculture. Bio stands for life, and logical represents common sense. Therefore, 'Bio-Logical' farming is working with the life in the soil, with plants, and animals - using a common sense approach that embraces, rather than attempts to dominate nature. We do everything we can to promote life. And, while quantities of commodities produced on your farm remain important, we place equal importance on quality. Knowledgeable consumers are demanding natural, unadulterated foods, and our goal is to help you profitably tap into that ever-growing market.

You owe it to yourself, your family and the future of your farm to investigate the opportunities of biological farming, and Midwestern Bio-Ag is here to help you.

We truly believe in our mission statement: "We're here because we have a passion for farming, a desire to change agriculture for the better, and the belief that farming should be profitable and fun."
