Organic Farming Success Starts with Soil Health

Join us for an organic field day with Midwestern BioAg founder and president Gary Zimmer. Gary will start the day with a presentation on organic farming practices and products that can help grow farm yields and reduce pest, weed and disease pressure. Gary is a long-time organic farmer and educator who farms Otter Creek Organic Farms, a 140-cow dairy that also grows corn, soybeans, wheat, oats and forages across its 1,200 acres. The farm is well known for its exceptional organic yields — average yields at Otter Creek range from 180- to 200-bushel/acre corn, 50- to 60-bushel/acre soybeans and 8 tons/acre alfalfa.

Lunch will be provided. The day will end with a crop walk led by Gary Zimmer and hosting consultants Firman Hershberger, Merlin Hershberger, Brian Knapp and Matt Stoutner.

Please RSVP before August 19 by calling 319.656.2477.
