The A/R Credit & Collections Administrator will work to maximize the company’s value through mitigating credit risk liability, prompt collection of receivables, and resolution of customer disputes. This position will provide an analysis of the credit risk potential for new and existing customers in an effort to minimize the financial risk of the company as it relates to accounts receivable. This position supports sales initiatives by providing accurate and timely customer data to the appropriate stakeholders.

 

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Assists with completion of the daily account. Applies payments to customers’ accounts, and prepares and transmits daily bank deposits.

  • Manages and monitors John Deere Financial’s credit card settlements, and ensures transaction settlement or reinstatement of amounts owed.

  • Collaborates with other service facility locations to ensure accurate and timely processing of customer transactions. Coordinates with appropriate staff to process credit requests and internal accounts. Provide validation to service facilities on all outgoing shipments in accordance with company policies and procedures.

  • Manages and organizes annual review of John Deere Financial programs.

  • Analyzes customer financial information and sets customer credit limits accordingly; Assists all MBA locations with customer account issues and determines the appropriate credit limits.

  • Reconciles the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted. Verifies discrepancies and resolves clients’ billing issues.

  • Facilitates timely invoice payments by sending bill reminders and contacting clients with outstanding balances.

  • Provide training to all service facility locations on credit, collections, and accounts receivable SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures). Review SOPs as necessary and make appropriate recommendations on changes.

  • Maintains sales tax exemption certificates. 

  • Calculates and files tonnage tax with the respective state agencies. 

  • Evaluate escalated issues for resolution or the need for further review; takes necessary action.

Education and Experience

  • Associates Degree in accounting, related field and/or three years equivalent work experience required. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field preferred.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, advanced knowledge of Excel

  • High attention to detail

  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced stressful environment with seasonally long hours

  • Prior experience using an ERP system (Merchant Ag)

  • Provide high-level customer service to both internal and external customers

  • Ability to work outside of set schedule during peak
